Quenching Head / Tunnel (Sprayer)

GF-ELTI Quenching Heads and Tunnels are plants connected to Heat Treatment lines and intended to quench products by means of an extinction liquid shower.

The quenching head is typically added to a continuous Heat Treatment line that is run through by products. Quenching may occur with the product advancing continuously or discontinuously, or stationary inside.

The quenching tunnel consists of a bearing metal structure accommodating the quenching modules. These modules are equipped with distributing nozzles supplied through the pressurised extinction liquid. These nozzles can be oriented according to the diameter of the processed product to obtain a liquid flow tangential to the surface. This can ensure the removal of the vapour film from the surface of the piece and, therefore, a more efficient cooling process.

Types of treated products: axial-symmetric products, such as tubes and bars.
