Cooling Tank with Platforms and Forced Agitation

GF-ELTI Cooling Tanks with Platforms and Forced Agitation are plants connected to Heat Treatment lines and intended to quench products by immersion in an extinction liquid (water or polymer solution).

The tank may be made of a (self-bearing or reinforced) metal structure if using a polymer solution or of waterproof reinforced concrete if using water.

The extinction liquid is stirred by a dedicated system, consisting of mechanical mixers or by pressure nozzles. It is possible to adjust the stirring rate and the orientation of the liquid according to manifold directions for both types.

Immersion may occur through a metal platform after laying down the products by means of an external handling device (e.g. bridge crane, manipulator, etc.) or by direct immersion, in case of a platform integrated into the furnace base. In case of large-size tanks, it is possible to install multiple platforms - one close to each other - operating either independently or jointly.

This technology is particularly suitable for highly automated Heat Treatment departments. As a matter of fact, in this case, the use of tanks with platforms ensures the repeated immersion of products and independence from the handling device for loading and unloading.
