Ageing

Ageing Heat Treatment generates a structural transformation of the material, usually obtained by precipitation, which occurs in some alloys after a cold deformation followed by a heat treatment (300 °C). An over-ageing obtained at a temperature higher than the ambient temperature sometimes leads to undesired transformations of physical and mechanical properties.

This Heat Treatment can be carried out on rolled, forged or cast products for various sectors, including Oil & Gas, Mechanics, Naval, Nuclear, Aerospace and Power Generation.

GF-ELTI performs Ageing Heat Treatments with plants certified according to the most restrictive European and/or international standards such as API 6A, ASTM A991, AMS 2750, NORSOK M-650, NADCAP and ABS.
