There are four Strategic Drivers that since the 1960s have led GF ELTI growth and operations and will continue to catalyse the Company’s Investments:

BAT Technologies / Energy Saving / Environment & Safety / Research & Development

Bat Technologies

Bat Technologies (Best Available Techniques)

GF ELTI complies with the Best Available Techniques as per Iron and Steel production in order to tackle the problems of (environmental) pollution.

The plants designed and produced by GF ELTI observe the guidelines dictated by Kyoto and Paris Protocols as per Environment Respect.

Energy Savings

Energy Savings

The plants engineered and realised by GF ELTI distinguish themselves for extremely low emissions (NOx and CO2) as well as for the reduced consumption of primary fuels. The choices made with respect to the Burners (GF ELTI Technology) installed on GF ELTI Furnaces in either the Business Units or by the clients grant reduced polluting emissions, therefore avoiding the production of some hundred tons of equivalent CO2.

Environment & Safety

Environment & Safety

The production chain of GF Suisse is powered by LNG (Liquid Natural Gas); this makes the Unit completely independent. As a matter of fact the LNG is stocked in a dedicated cryogenic vertical tank and it is turned into gas form via vaporizers. The Heat Treatment Line is equipped with highly efficient auto-recuperative burners that dramatically reduce the production of NOx.

The residual energy contained into the fumes, before being expelled by the chimney is recovered and stored into a 20'000 L tank to produce hot running water to heat all the services such as, offices, changing rooms, canteens, showers and sinks.
GF Suisse is therefore completely independent from boilers and conditioners.

Research & Development

Research & Development

Every year important resources are designated to R&D and renewal of Hardware, Software and calculation instruments required by design, production and field operations. In GF ELTI it is common practice to capitalize the R&D efforts developing Product and Process Innovation covered by Industrial Marks and Patents.
