Tundish Reheating / Drying System

GF-ELTI Reheating and Drying stations for Tundishes are plants used in steelworks and strictly connected to tundishes.

The tundishes are specific containers intended to distribute melted metal onto continuous casting lines, made of steel internally lined by refractory material and equipped with a series of gauged holes (dischargers) on the bottom.

Reheating and Drying stations are used to dry and pre-heat the tundishes at temperatures suitable for the process (~ 1,050 ÷ 1,150 °C) before their use. Equipped with a combustion and an automation system, these machines can carry out reheating cycles programmed in compliance with pre-set time-temperature curves.
